Introduction
I decided to write a quick summary about this new ICO that is coming up because I actually enjoy what they are bringing to the table. The project is called Gastro Advisor and it is essentially a restaurant review platform that will allow users to review their favorite restaurants, book reservations, and discover new places to eat. The Product
Gastro Advisor will be the new app you look to when deciding on where to eat. They will be developing an app that users can leave reviews of restaurants, make a reservation, and discover all sorts of new venues to eat at. The best part about Gastro Advisor is that it will use the blockchain to store all of this information. This means that a user’s review will remain immutable. This is a big deal because in the past there have been reports of websites like Yelp, where users go to read reviews about businesses and restaurants where the reviews were biased. It has even been reported by Forbes in this article that Yelp filters results and only shows users what they want them to see.
Users will use the FORK token as a means of getting paid for their reviews and information they leave about a restaurant. Restaurants will use the token as a means for paying for themselves to be on the platform as well as a way to incentive users of the platform to visit their restaurant. I think this is a perfect way to garner widespread use of the app as well as make it worthwhile to leave your personal review of a restaurant.
Why I like it
I am a big fan of this project because I can see this being extremely useful. You will get honest reviews of a restaurant. This is a big deal to me as I suffer from an intestinal disease where I need to be picky about my diet. I am also a fan of the fact that you can earn FORK tokens for writing reviews as well as spend FORK tokens, ETH, and BTC at restaurants that support the app. They will also be releasing a sort of social network for restaurant fans to discuss different places to eat amongst themselves.
